NO MORE LOOSE ENDS.... or flakey dandruff
Utz happenin' homies? Tis' I yer twisted teller of tantalizing tales returning to show you some more of my latest clean up efforts. As mentioned previously I have been working hard to tidy up all the loose ends of the three books I have ready for publishing. Just a little more coloring here, some lettering there, and maybe three blank pages to fill up. Awwwww..... who am I trying to kid itza lotta work!!!
Nevertheless, I am really enjoying it, and I can't wait to set up at comic book shows this fall and hawk my wares. I hope to see some of you hepper of the hep cats there helping me out with a purchase or two... or three even!
Check out Dr. Tse in the middle right panel of the left hand page up there.... No Dandruff on that cue ball.

I TOLD YOU SO
I mentioned I would be finishing up some older material I have neglected far too long! Here then is some more color gore, ( from days of yore ) work from the mountainous back-log of pages yet to be finished before the fall con season. I banged out these colors on April fools day, whilst awaiting an auto inspection. Think of it... me,... a grown up type humanoid sitting there coloring while the grease monkeys tinkered with my auto! Hoo-ha!!! Until the next posting... my fine, frenzied, friends of all things freakish :)

BLUE ON BLUE
Greetings and Saturday night salutations to all you lovers of panelographic pursuit! It is I your humble home made comic steward here with another serving of selected delectable delights for your intellectual enjoyment. This installment finds me fit, fine and happy in my new surroundings, with a lovely red-headed wife to be at my side, and a new studio to call my very own. The initial goal is to work on the backlog of books I have in the 80% complete bucket. See... I just got so far on a book, lost interest and started another book. This happened at least four times in the last four years, so needless to say... I have four books that are all but 20% finished and ready to publish, well... I shall procrastinate no further friends. I have determined that before I jot another tittle, before I wet my wick in vain, before I apply pencil to paper once more... I shall first achieve the goal, before this year is out, of finishing all four of my books, and have them ready to publish and sell in 2013. There... I said it out loud. Anyways.... The reason I name this post BLUE ON BLUE is because I had a very specific color scheme in mind when I penciled and inked this, but it was only when I sat down to color it that I realized it was predominantly blue. It was quite a chore balancing all that blue, and yet still maintaining enough contrast that things stayed sharp and in focus. Hope you are all enjoying this early spring, and summer type weather. Peace little doggies :)

COLOR MY WORLD
Faced with the threat of an entire Saturday morning wasted in the worthwhile, but utterly boring pursuit of auto repair,... I took firm action and developed a bold plan. I marched into the studio, grabbed my portable art kit, some old black and white pages I had done years ago, and a set of PRISMA colored markers. I then loaded the gear into the ailing auto, and of to the garage goeth I. Striding supremely into the waiting lounge, kit in hand, I ignored the curious stares, and awkward glances of the other wasted, waiting souls nestled up to the their coffee cups, and listening mindlessly to their CNN. Did I waver?.... no, not even for an instant. In the hour and a half that followed I produced the prestigious parchment presented for your perusal presently. Now I ask you dear fans of comics everywhere.... who is the coolest of the cool sitting by the cooler in the auto serve waiting room? Beholdeth... it is I!

PULLING OUT THE STOPS
Hey there, Ho there, blogging boys and girls. It has been an interesting month of May as the rain just hasn't let up, and BLOGGER has gone bersurko! I don't know about you folks but I was locked outta my own blog site for nigh onto three weeks, and I heard tell of worse by other bloggin buddies. Pffft! technology..... what can you expect right?Well over here at MITCHELL STUDIOS we celebrate everything lo-tech... as one can plainly see by taking a groovy gander at my drawing table. This snap shot is actually from MS studios SOUTH. The scene at MS studios NORTH is even more untidy and revolting :)
Even the smallest sideways glance will show that I am really pulling out all the stops on this story for the creepy folks at BLOKES TERRIBLE TOMB OF TERROR. All the old school pen and ink techniques are employed here, crosshatch, wash, and stippling, it has all landed on these pages.... not to mention the table tops, walls and chairs...YEECH!

THIS IS SO NOT GROOVY!
OKAY, okay, ok..... Even an ultra cool, totally enlightened, harmonic hero, like our SUPER GROOVY MAN can lose his cool once in awhile. Here 'Ol groove is just really having a flip out on accounta he needs to focus his chi power, align a few shakras, or metabolate, meditate ( or sumpin like that ) and everybody keeps buggin him!!! Whether it comes from the Mayor, to his young friend Mike, or over to his best goomba Tony, everybody is getting on his nerves!
Ahhhh well. It happens sometimes. See I just don't believe that anyone, anyone who is even one tenth human can keep their cool all the time... I mean Jesus.... no, literally Jesus dudes.... even he flipped his lid.... remember him turning over the tables in the temple??? That dude was ripped!
Anyway... I wanted to show that even though he mostly keeps his cool even our hero can have some cheese slippin off his cracker now and again.
Totally changing the subject now for a moment... did you know that in the development of the character Tony, it was decided that he is bald, but wears a toupee to make him appear more like his movie idol Charles Bronson. He is very self conscious about being bald, and thinks the chicks will dig him more if he looks like Bronson. I don't know why..... but that kind of vanity cracks me up :)
Peace Pals n' Gals.

UNDER THE BIG TOP
Hurrah, hurray, hurah.... step right up! Witness the exciting, the amazing, the most death defying spectecal ever performed under the big top. Looks as though our hapless hero SUPER GROOVY MAN is being put to the test way back in those bygone days before he fully developed all his powers. Yes dear readers this is one of those most cherished of all comic book traditions, known as the " Flashback" or also in this case... " an ORIGIN story."
I can't post too much more about this page just now, but I am trying to do better with posting my blog, and keeping up with my out put, so I thought you might like to take a little groovy gander. Stay awake, and alert out there Kat's and Kiddies... and uh.... Oh Ya..... Never, Ever, play wiff guns!
Peace
